Description

AR film is a high contrast film for use in scanners and imagesetters equipped with an argon ion laser exposure source.

Features

Dimensionally stable
Very linear
Rapid, uniform drawdown
Compatible with most rapid access developers

Safelights

Handle film under red or amber safelighting at least 4 feet (1.2 meters) from the film surface until processed.

Recommended Safelighting:

Wratten #1A (red) filter in a suitable safelight
EncapSulite™ A10/ND.3 fluorescent safelight
Illumination Technology dark amber sleeve M58V19.055W over deluxe cool-white fluorescent tube

Storage

Keep unexposed film and processed film in a cool, dry place. Process film as soon as possible after exposure.

Exposure

AR film is intended for scanners and imagesetters equipped with an argon ion exposure source operating at 488 nanometers. Exact exposure recommendations vary with the particular equipment and procedures involved. Follow the recommendations of the equipment manufacturer for setting exposure and calibrating halftones.

Processing

AR film is best suited for rapid access processing. Refer to the container labels for mixing and other instructions regarding the processing chemicals.

Processing Recommendations

Before handling or using any chemical product, be sure to read the Material Safety Data Sheet for health hazard data, precautionary information and suggested first aid.

Use these recommendations as a starting point. For optimum results, use:

RLD rapid laser developer (1:4)
RLF rapid laser fix (1:6)

Process	Time	Temp	Replenishment Rate (50% Area Exposed)
RLD developer*	20-40 seconds	95°F (35°C)	0.40 ml per sq inch (620 ml per sq meter)
RLF fix	20-40 seconds	90°F (32°C)	0.35 ml per sq inch (540 ml per sq meter)

* These conditions are also applicable to most rapid access processing chemistries.

Imation warrants only that the Imation products described above will meet the published warranty applicable to said Imation products.

THIS WARRANTY IS MADE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY ARISING OUT OF A COURSE OF DEALING OR OF PERFORMANCE, CUSTOM OR USAGE OF TRADE EXCEPT OF TITLE AND AGAINST PATENT INFRINGEMENT.

If any Imation product is found not to meet the above-stated warranty, Purchaser's exclusive remedy and Imation's and/or Seller's only obligation is to repair, replace the product or refund the purchase price, at Imation's or Seller's option, within a reasonable time after written notification but no later than sixty (60) days after discovery of the defect, all as specifically stated in Imation's published warranty. IMATION WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS) IN ANY WAY RELATED TO THE IMATION PRODUCTS, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY ASSERTED.
